Technical Customer Service Advisor - Rif.: MWUK112021

Metal Work is a leading worldwide manufacturer of Pneumatic and Electric Automation equipment and has a turnover exceeding 200m Euros.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Technical Customer Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual with a customer service background who is looking to advance their career and gain the support of an innovative and progressive company.

The Role

As a group, Metal Work have a strategy to increase sales and grow as a global organisation. The role of the individual will be to support this strategy by providing technical product advice (training will be provided) to our customers and external sales team. 

This is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Technical Manager.


Office Based – Wolverton Mill, Milton Keynes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Learn the features, the benefits, and applications for all catalogued products.
  2. Advising customers on technical and product enquiries – telephone and email.
  3. Supporting external sales team with technical and product enquiries.
  4. Assisting in managing the Technical Department inbox (Outlook).
  5. Liaising with Metal Work head office, based in Italy.
  6. Product cross-referencing.
  7. Undertake any special projects or tasks that may be required.

The Person

The role requires a highly motivated individual who will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills as well as a strong desire to gain product knowledge. The key skills required for this role are:

  • Customer Service experience.
  • Good organisational, planning, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Punctuality.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Sound sense of responsibility, attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good IT skills - SAP, Microsoft Word, XP, Excel, Explorer, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and develop knowledge – OTJ; classroom; self-development.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic equipment is desirable but not essential. Product training will be provided.

 The Process

The candidates will be required to travel to our Milton Keynes site for interview(s).
