NEWS 1/4 OF THE CENTURY NEWS 2004 First Italian Sales Force Convention For the first time the entire Sales Force of the PService Group – the Italian marketing branches – met in the convention hall at the main company in Concesio. Sales personnel of all ages from all over Italy spent a few hours together in a highly optimistic atmosphere. The morning schedule included two brief reports by the Sales Manager and the Product Manager, who outlined the history of the Metal Work Group, the current marketing strategies and design concepts. The meeting was based on involvement and motivation, and a visit to the production departments, which brought together two usually distant worlds, reinforced the sense of belonging and sharing objectives. At the end the President thanked all the participants individually in concluding a day s work that we hope will become a regular annual event providing an opportunity for comparison and discussion. ISO 9001 certification for our Brasilian partner On March 24th 2004, after a three-day audit carried out by Dekra IST Certification Services, our associate in Dover, Brazil, obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification of their quality management system. This acknowledgement is a reward for the efforts made by the entire organisation at Dover which, with backup from the parent company, took active part in this project with great enthusiasm. Dover has thus joined the team of the 28 companies in the Metal Work Group that have been awarded this important recognition, proof that quality and Customer satisfaction are priority aims at Metal Work SpA and the other members in group. A 2004 OSCAR for a product unique in the world ONE is already a winner. The new product was awarded the highest recognition, the 2004 International New Product Prize, on the basis of a competition organised by Fluidtrans Compomac. The adjudicating committee, made up of research-centre directors, university lecturers, industrial designers and association representatives, chose ONE among the best products presented at the prestigious trade fair. This "Oscar", which joins the recognition achieved in the past ( the top Prize in 2000 for "Multimach" and a Certificate of Merit in 2002 for "Lineonline"), makes us proud because it recognises Metal Work's enduring ability both to innovate existing products with imagination and precision and to invent new products.
